About
Dr. Sekhar Reddy is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Medicine, where he focuses on critical areas in respiratory health. His research primarily investigates lung repair mechanisms following acute lung injury (ALI) and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), as well as neonatal lung diseases such as bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD).
With a strong background in redox biology and MAP kinase signaling, Dr. Reddy explores the complex interactions between lung macrophages and epithelial cells, aiming to understand their roles in lung pathophysiology. His work is pivotal in uncovering potential therapeutic strategies for improving lung health in vulnerable populations, particularly neonates.
